PRICKLY PEAR JAM VIDEO

This morning Mike Schmitt released the official recap of the Prickly Pear Jam that happened in Arizona a couple weeks ago. This 10 minute video is packed full of good times, vicious heat, and collective mix of familiar faces. My favorite part of the video and possibly the funniest part of the day was when Mike pulled a 180 crook in flip flops for a quick 20 bucks. At which point everyone came together and scrounged up enough to pay the debt. Shout out to Zane Meyer for all the arial coverage, and to Kai Yao for shooting secondary angles. Press play to see first hand why this was one of the best FGFS events that has happened in a really long time.

RIDE + STYLE 2014 | VIDEO

With more than 30 riders from all over the world competing in the freestyle event, things were bound to get wild as everybody geared up for the 2014 Red Bull Ride & Style. Each year they mix up the course and this year they really out did themselves creating one of the best flowing layouts to date. Everyone brought their A-game that day as they stepped up to the plate to empty out their bag of tricks. Elliott Milner brought was linking together lines on the park like he’s ridden it his whole life. Jakob Santos hucked something huge off just about every object there. Joe Mckeag showed everyone what it looks like to ride transition, and Johnathan Ball wasn’t letting anything go untouched. There’s too much that went down for me to even begin to discuss, so I’m just going to have to let the video speak for itself. Read more below to see the final results. Thanks to Dave Beard for shooting the photos for the thumbnail.

WHEEL TALK JAPAN | TOUR VAN

Our journey to Japan Last year was a trip that I’ll never forget. We traveled all over the island and saw everything from the lush green farm fields that blanketed the southern tip of Japan, to the dense inner city of Shibuya Tokyo. Although we were only there for a couple short weeks we were able to do a 9 State Tour w/ a bunch of the dudes from Fukuoka and spend some time in Tokyo w/ Marco. The weather was so bloody humid the entire time, that we all became accustomed to carrying around a towel everywhere. We’re going to have to plan another tour in Japan next year.

DEVON LAWSON CFTY2 SECTION

Zane Meyer recently released Devon Lawson’s Section in Can’t Fool The Youth 2 for the public to enjoy online. His section in the video was easily the heaviest part of the DVD which is most likely why it was saved for last. I filmed quite a bit of the clips in it, and was the most stoked on how the intro turned out. I don’t know which I enjoyed more, filming or editing everyone’s reactions. Dealing and bargaining with security is the worst part of the job, but there’s nothing more gratifying than coming back to conquer the beast before getting the boot for a second time in one day. If you haven’t already seen this, stop reading and press play already.

MATT REYES | CHURCH & DUBOCE

It’s rare to see me riding rails, but figured I’d catch at least one double peg clip for an edit I’ve been working on while the homies were in town. I wonder if the city knew what they were doing when they installed this steel playground along one of the muni stops in our neighborhood. Photo Credit : Seitaro Iki (top) & Dew Sippawit (bottom)
