The Prickly Pear Jam is one FGFS event that won’t soon be forgotten. Both by those who attended and those who kept up with it around the globe. It threw a can of gasoline on the fire and stoked out the entire community. Equivalent to what Mid West Mayhem did for the scene more than 6 years ago. If you missed any of the event coverage than here’s a little bit more for you to marinate on. Stay broke, shoot film. Olympus OM-1 (35mm)
“Turn your bike sideways and do whatever the hell you want” were the only words I said when shooting these photos. I wish I could have captured a profile photo of everyone who came out the the Prickly Pear Jam in Arizona, but I only walked away with portraits of these 8 during the 3 days we were there. Scroll through and take a look at some all too familiar faces. After that, this concludes my photo coverage of both the jam and my brief stay to the land of the sun, or better put “A sunny place for shady people”. Who knows where the next jam will lead us.
Today marks the 2 year anniversary of Word Is Bond. In celebration of this milestone we’ve taken the time to uploaded the final section of the video. It’s hard to believe so much time has passed since we first released it back in 2014. Shout out to TURF MOB for bringing this all together and to everyone who has ever ridden FGFS. The community is what will always make this scene great. Sit back, relax and enjoy the show.

In honor of the release of Mike Schmitt’s latest edit I decided to post a bunch of studio shots I took of his signature part, the TURF Nightstick. At 4.9″ long these are the longest plastic pegs available on the market and were designed by MTS himself. The added length makes since for wider wheel diameters and give you more room to play with while remaining in contact with the grind. If you haven’t seen his new web edit “The Twilight Zona“, then read more and see first hand why he’s been dubbed the name “Grind King”.
It’s amazing how many of the tricks in Jimmy Watcha’s Word Is Bond section were done first try. He even came through and submitted a bunch of clips he filmed with the FIXIEBOYZ408. He might be a man of few words but I’m pretty damn sure his riding speaks for itself. Press play and see for yourself.

For those of you who don’t already know, Mike T. Schmitt recently moved to the Grand Canyon State to live and ride in Tempe Arizona. A week before he made the journey out there, we linked up on our lunch break and grabbed a bite to eat. After chowing down on a couple burritos, I pulled out the camera and shot these two photos. One quick smith and a moment later he was onto the next great adventure in life. Follow MTS & TURFMOB on instagram to keep up with all the local happenings.
In between filming for his part in the second issue of Can’t Fool The Youth, Devon Lawson dedicated some time to shoot this quick section for the TURF Bikes full length video entitled “Word Is Bond“. Devon has always been known for his precision barspins, steady pedals, and shear strength behind the bike. If you live under a rock and still haven’t seen the entire video front to back then I suggest you read more below and discover what you’ve been missing.
Originally released on 04.20.2014, here’s Ed “Wonka” Laforte’s section from the TURF Bikes full length video, Word Is Bond. Now that most of the clips are 2-3 years old, we decided it was time for this footage to resurface and get released section by section over the next couple of months. Keep your ear to the ground and enjoy the first section in Word Is Bond, or check out the full length video below.

In celebration of our Independence Mike Schmitt, Ed Wonka Laforte & I met up in SF to ride, film, light off some fireworks, and get a quick haircut from Mr. Laforte himself. Check out this video that MTS pieced together of our afternoon out on the town and read more to see some screenshots below. WHEEL TALK X TURF BIKES

TURF Bikes just released a new T-Shirt to the mix of products available on their store. Living in San Francisco we rarely see stars, and often times the moon is the only light that makes it through the fog. Pick up one of these moon phase tees before they’re gone for good. Check out more photos below.
